Is there anyone who doesn’t love getting something in the mail, especially when it's an unexpected present? However, if a package shows up at your door, there just may be a sinister motive behind it. Reports of this type of scam have been popping up all over. Keep on scrolling to get all the details. 

Meanwhile, doesn’t it feel good to check off a project that’s been on your to-do list for too long? With busy days and immediate tasks that need finishing, sometimes projects just keep getting pushed off. Fortunately, if it’s an IT or cybersecurity project, we can help you out. There’s nothing better than opening up a package - especially if it's a gift. Lately, there have been reports of “gifts” being sent to unwitting recipients through Amazon. The scam works like this: An unexpected package shows up on your doorstep but when you open it up there’s no note saying who it is from. Instead, there’ll be a card with a QR code asking you to scan it to see who sent you the gift. Who wouldn’t want to know who sent them a gift?! But, when you scan the code, it instead can give the scammer access to your phone. 

If this happens to you, don’t scan the code or input any web addresses they may send. You should ignore what they are asking you and change your password on the online shopping account associated with the delivery. If the item came from Amazon, you can report unsolicited packages here.
